Now in its twenty-third season in the heart of North Carolina, Lee County Community Orchestra brings together some forty volunteer musicians of mixed ages and musical backgrounds. Members range in age from high school students to senior citizens, all focused on preparing and presenting free concerts for the community--Sanford, Lee County, and the surrounding area. Some bring professional music experience to the mix and others offer the satisfaction of a hobby pursued, but all contribute their desire to learn to play well in an ensemble. Performances take place at the Tommy Mann Lee County Arts & Community Center (in the Annie Laurie Pomeranz Auditorium) and at Depot Park in downtown Sanford. Click on SEASON for the full schedule.
LCCO rehearses every Tuesday evening from 6:30-9:00 p.m. in the practice hall of the Fine Arts Building at Lee County High School, 1708 Nash Street, Sanford, NC 27330. Tara Towson Villa
is the music director who will guide LCCO for 2010-2011. Click on SEASON to learn Dr. Villa's plans for her second season with the orchestra.
